QEI Security & Technology, a Charleston-based security and home automation company, partnered with the community to donate $2,000 to the Mt. Pleasant Fire Department.
QEI Security collected donations at iHeart Radio’s Party in the Park series and Stars & Guitars, both held in Mt. Pleasant. More than $900 was raised and QEI matched that and more to donate a total of $2,000.
“It is a natural fit for QEI Security & Technology to partner with our first responders,” explains Joe Curtis, VP of Operations. “Monitored smoke and fire protection is an important part of every system we design because the fire department is immediately notified when smoke is detected. With smart home products installed, our systems go even further to stop the HVAC system and turn on all lights when smoke is detected to better protect both the home and its occupants.”
The Mt. Pleasant Fire Department’s mission is to protect the lives and property of our citizens through proactive approaches in fire safety, code enforcement and emergency response.
These donations could be used to further the departments charity involvements and also to support special programs like the Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting Program (ARFF), the USAR/Technical Rescue Program, Water Rescue Program and wildland firefighting.
Both QEI Security & Technology and the Mt. Pleasant Fire Department are deeply involved in the communities they serve, which is what makes this partnership work. At each event, QEI raffled a YETI cooler with a local winner selected each week.
